St Mary Major, Ilchester is the last of 7 churches which once graced the old Roman town of 'Lendinae'
St Peter's Podimore is a 'gem' of a village church. (picture shows the tower after recent restoration works)
St Mary Limington is full of history. It is believed to be Thomas Wolsey's first parish church
St Bartholomew Yeovilton is no longer a parish church today instead it honours the men and women of the 'Fleet Air Arm'.
Ilchester District Churches - St Mary Major, St Peter's and St Mary's - form the benefice of Ilchester with Northover,
Limington and Yeovilton with Podimore in the Church of England Diocese of Bath and Wells. Each church is distinct in its own right and very representative of its village community.
Why not drop in and join the worship at one of our services on a Sunday

We thought the weather might hamper the Sausage and Cider Sizzler on Saturday 9th but the evening sun shone and folks were able to mingle, eat and drink and chat together before the entertainment; and what a feast that was! A wonderful violin recital leaft folks spellbound. Mirth then filled the air as we heard of the great perils of letting your husband wallpaper the palour and then after a short break - Elvis! A big thank you to the gift of skill and time from all of the entertainers, from those who brewed and cooked and served food and drink to over 70 folks from the village and beyond. To top it all offan amazing £700 was raised for repairs to the building!
